• Procuring parts from preferred vendors whilst not exceeding budget and adhering to the relevant purchasing and finance procedures.

• Working with project leaders to ensure parts are delivered in line with the requirements of the project plan and to the correct quality standard.

• Production engineering of all composite manufacturing

• Working with the design teams and process engineers to help the development of effective and practical solutions for manufacturing composite parts.

• Representing the composite department on selected operational improvement or technology projects as designated by the Head of Composites

• Identifying solutions to faults and work with the composite quality assurance team leader to rectify for next event

A vacancy has arisen for a Management Accountant reporting to Head of Controlling.

Key Accountabilities/Duties

Development Projects
• Produce the Development Project Status Reports weekly
• Work with Project Managers, designers & planners to produce reliable forecast costs for all projects (approved & future projects).
• Use SAP for detailed costings
• Develop a costing template to ensure car parts can be costed quickly to an acceptable level of accuracy
• Detailed analysis of development project expenditure proposals to allow “what if” scenarios to ensure car performance is maximised with the team’s financial constraints.
• Post-implementation review & variance analysis on appropriate projects – actual costs against budget / forecast
• Highlight areas of concern or areas requiring managerial response
• Manage the project status within SAP – project creation, budget creation, timely project closure

Month End Duties
• Complete responsibility for Cost Centres within the Design area of the business
o Prepayments, accruals and other adjustments calculated & posted
o Variance analysis of actual costs against budget / forecast, including commentaries
o Review costs with Cost Centre Managers
o Produce Development Project Report for inclusion in Management Accounts
o Produce relevant balance sheet reconciliations

Budgeting / Forecasting
• Involvement throughout car design cycle (from concept) to ensure financial impact is understood, improving forecasting accuracy .
• Complete responsibility for Cost Centres within the Design area of the business
o Reviews with Cost Centre Managers & Directors
o Analysis against prior years and/or budget/forecast
o Consolidated reporting for area, including commentaries
o Produce RRA forecast of annual external expenditure

Costing
• Run monthly costing routines on SAP
• Investigate & correct SAP costing errors
• Work with SAP support & other areas of business to identify & implement improvements to SAP costing accuracy 

Other
• Develop & implement processes to ensure costs of development time can be carried over into following year
• Support the Financial accountant to maximise R&D tax allowances to reduce tax liability and improve cash position
• Work with design to identify parts where costs are not proportionate to performance & drive any resulting cost reduction initiatives.

Relevant Experience and Qualifications
• Qualified accountant
• Good academic qualifications

A vacancy has arisen for an Electronics Development Engineer reporting to the Electronics Development Project Leader.

The overall purpose of this position is to be responsible for on-car and off-car electronic hardware development. The role will involve system and component design, embedded software development and test. The successful candidate will see designs through from concept through to fault finding the final product. In addition, the candidate will be required to create and manage system and component specifications and documentation.

Key Accountabilities/Duties include:

• Definition of requirement specifications for development projects, budget and timescale identification.

• Design and development of electronic components and systems using electronic CAD system.

• Development of embedded software, in co-operation with the controls group.

• Liaison with external suppliers to manufacture and assemble electronic circuits and systems.

• Management of manufacturing process during internal electronic systems build.

• Component and system level test fixture development.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• A degree or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 2 years experience working in an electronic design role in a Formula 1 team, a top level motorsport team, or for a Formula 1 electronic system/component supplier.

• Minimum 5 years experience in professional electronic design and development.

• Minimum 2 years experience in writing software (‘C’, C++, etc) for embedded applications. • Experience in using Electronic CAD systems for schematic entry and PCB layout (ideally, but not necessarily, using Altium Designer).
